It's been exciting and gratifying planning and working towards this event. The enthusiasm and support from others have made this an entirely joyful process. Cynthia McCreery of the Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition has pulled together everything we need to host the event in Hazelton BC, including two fabulous guest artists for the dinner event on Feb 22. Perry Rath will talk about art and the land and Roy Henry Vickers (insert many happy exclamation marks here!) will be storytelling about the Sacred Headwaters. Planning conversations with her have been pure delight. She's made everything better than I imagined possible, including painting on the stage for the children that will come with their parents.
Opus Art Supplies (opusartsupplies.com ) have not only generously donated some of the supplies we need, but advised on products that would best suit the event and tips to keep the costs down.
Yesterday, a trip to the hardware store and another to the Dollar Store finished off the supplies shopping list. Now we need good weather for the drive up on the 18th!
