Community paint-ins this summer?

With so much pressure from all sides on environmental sustainability these days, it is close to paralyzing for those who are affected.  All the more reason to do what we can, with the activities that are life-filling and remind ourselves and others just what it is we love, need, and want to protect.

Summer is coming, and with it, the time and energy to hit the road with painting supplies!

In August, my husband and I will be working our way up to Haida Gwaii and over to New Hazelton on the great circle route homeward bound.

Painting progress - my work using Paul Colangelo's images

The painting of the Road to Telegraph Creek that the wind blew into the grass is now redone and drying.  I think the accident did it a bit of good - I had a chance to rethink some of the colours.

I'm almost finished the Smokehouse painting, and think I will try it in Watercolour, using primarily negative space.  The shafts of light should be stunning this way.

Photos tomorrow!

Latest news - Sept 13

We are delighted to have Robert Potter's painting up on the Slide show.

My own most recent attempt fell victim to a sudden gust of wind and landed "jelly side down" in the grass.   Repairs are under way.
